This guide explains the SDP ‘Share his page’ feature.
Display on live pages
On live SDP web pages, this component displays on the sidebar under other sidebar components (side navigation and related links). On mobile and smaller screens, sidebar components display under the body content.
Most SDP pages display on larger screens in 2 columns - the body section on the left and sidebar components on the right. For home pages and section landing pages, we often recommend that sidebar components are turned off so that pages will display with 3 promotion cards - for example the vic.gov.au home page.
Display in the CMS
The ‘Share this page’ component is called ‘Social sharing’ in the CMS. The default setting all new CMS pages (nodes) is that social sharing is enabled (on). The decision to turn it off should only be made by a department’s digital manager.
