This guide covers the grants, publications and news page of the GA4 dashboard. This page includes details about the grants and programs, publications and news content types.

Grants and programs

  • Total users (all grants and programs): total number of visitors who visit a grant or program page. This is tracked through the use of the Grant template.

  • Total sessions on the landing page vic.gov.au/grants: total visits with engagement in a certain period of time to this landing page.

  • Unique pageviews: pageviews generated by the same visitor during the same session (a session lasts until there is 30 minutes of inactivity - reloading a page in the same session will not be counted as a unique pageview).

  • % Δ: an increase or decrease in the unique pageviews. An increase will have a green arrow, and a decrease will have a red arrow and be a negative number.

Publications

Filter by publication name

Here you can filter to a specific publication. Select the Page path field and start typing the title of the publication.

Total users – (publications)

The total number of visitors who visit any publication page on vic.gov.au. It also shows whether there has been an overall increase or decrease in publication users. Increase is shown with a green arrow and positive number. A decrease is shown with a red arrow and negative number.

Publications (first table)

  • Page path: address/URL of the page path.

  • Views: number of views for the page, regardless of whether the views are done in the same session, by the same visitor, or by reloading the page.

  • % Δ: shows an increase or decrease in pageviews. An increase will have a green arrow and a positive number. A decrease will have a red arrow and be a negative number.

Publications –'print all' sessions

Tracks the when a user selects Print full document on a publication page.

Publication pages with downloads

This table includes any publications that include a downloadable file on the publication’s parent page.

You can select the Page path and start typing the publication title to filter to a specific publication with download.

Alternatively you can browse the table of all publication pages with downloads. Data includes:

  • Publication name: title of the publication’s parent page.

  • Unique events: number of times the downloadable file has been seen by a unique visitor within a session.

  • % Δ: increase or decrease in the downloads on the page. An increase will have a green arrow and a positive number. A decrease will have a red arrow and a negative number.

Files downloaded from publication pages

This table includes any files downloaded from publication parent or landing pages.

You can select the Page path and start typing the publication title to filter to a specific publication parent page.

Alternatively you can browse the table of all files downloaded from a parent page. Data includes:

  • File name: name of the downloadable file and its URL.

  • Unique events: number of times the file is downloaded by a unique visitor within a session.

  • % Δ: increase or decrease in the downloads of the specific file. An increase will have a green arrow and a positive number. A decrease will have a red arrow and show a negative number.

News

Filter by news items

Here you can filter to a specific news item. Select the Page path field and start typing the title of the news item.

Total users (news)

Total number of visitors who visit any news page (using the News template), and a smaller number showing whether this is an increase (green arrow and positive number) or decrease (red arrow and negative number).

News items

  • Page path: the address/URL of the news page.

  • Views: number of views for the page, regardless of whether the views are done in the same session, by the same visitor, or with reloading the page.

  • % Δ: increase or decrease in the pageviews. An increase will have a green arrow and a positive number. A decrease will have a red arrow and be a negative number.
