This page will teach you how to add a custom image to a page so it can display when the page is shared on social media channels.

1. Before adding a new image

Ensure the image you’re adding is 496 pixels high x 818 wide (JPG format). You may need to resize it first.

If your team has a UX designer, we recommend asking them to prepare the image for you.

2. Add a new or update an existing image

  1. Navigate to the page that you'd like the custom image to appear from.

  2. Go to the 'Feature image' section.

  3. Click ‘Select images' or 'Remove/Edit’ if there’s an existing image on the page.

  4. Upload your image.

  5. Add alt-text if the image is informative. Leave the alt text field blank if the image is decorative.

  6. Save your page.

  7. Change the state of your page from 'Draft' to 'Needs Review'.

  8. The content team will publish your page.

  9. Once the page is live, your custom social media image will appear when you share the page on social media.
