Centralised process for updates

SDP headers and footers are centrally managed.

Changes to the Acknowledgement of country will be made under the direction of DPC.

These are expected to be provided as part of branding work later in the year. They will go to SCEs for approval.

Background

The Single Digital Presence and Victorian Government version of the acknowledgement of country was taken from the official First People State Relations acknowledgement of country.

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags were added following user research in 2018 at the request of first peoples' participants.

Why centralisation is important

Central management ensures:

  • changes are appropriate and respectful of stakeholders e.g. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples

  • consistency, an important part of ensuring trust in government, usability of websites and strong brand

  • efficiency, minimising time and money spent by government doing the same thing more than once

  • reduced risk of issues during quarterly releases.
