Troubleshooting: Publication child pages disconnecting from publication (parent) landing page when scheduled to publish at the same time (issue: SDPSUP-4378)
I scheduled all the pages of the publication to publish at the same time and they all published, but the child pages of the publication all seemed to publish as individual pages. And when I checked the landing page, the children pages had disappeared.
This issue was raised by an SDP community member via the service ticket on 1 June, 2022.
Summary of issue
This occurs when publication child pages are scheduled to publish at the same time as the child pages.
Suggested workaround
If you are setting a publication to publish at a specific time, publish the publication (parent) landing page 5 minutes before the child pages. If there are grandchild pages, them publish these 5 minutes after the child page. You will also need to republish the publication landing page after the child pages have published so that they appear in the index on the front page.

🤔 Problem
A publication’s child pages can disconnect from the parent page if they are all scheduled to publish at the same time.
🌱 Solution
Publication parent page is scheduled to be published first.
Child pages are scheduled to be published 5 minutes later.
Grandchild pages are scheduled to be published 5 minutes after the child pages.
Publication parent page is scheduled to be re-published at the very end (so that the child pages appear as navigation cards.)
For example, if you would like your publication to be available by 9am:
Parent page – scheduled for 8:30am
Child pages – scheduled for 8:35am
Grandchild pages – scheduled for 8:40am
2nd publish of parent page – scheduled for 8:45am
Full publication – live by 9am.
Only CMS users who are an Approver or Site admin can schedule content to be published.
