A click heatmap is a visual representation using thermal imaging that tells you where visitors are clicking.

Info

  • Only DGS and DPC staff can have ‘edit’ access to DPC’s Hotjar account.

  • ‘Read only’ access can be provided to other departments.

You can request access to Hotjar through SDP support.

You can gather heatmap data for pages on vic.gov.au using Hotjar. The Hotjar account cannot be used to access heatmaps for semi-independent or independent websites.

If you’d like access to Hotjar, raise a support ticket via SDP publishing support.

  1. Login to Hotjar

  2. Select AAA VIC.GOV.AU as the site

  3. Select Heatmaps

    3. Type or paste in the URL of the page you need, for example vic.gov.au/sick-pay-guarantee, choose the time period (and any other filters you require) and click View heatmap.

4. The heatmap will generate to show hotspots, clicks and sessions by device.
