Prepare an image

Before you upload an image, check your image has been resized correctly. Visit: Image ratios, sizes and component use.

If your team has a graphic or web designer, we recommend asking them to prepare the image for you.

Add the image to the page

  1. Navigate to the page that you'd like the custom image to appear from.

  2. Select Go to the Feature image component drop-down section.

  3. Click Select images or Remove/Edit if there’s an existing image on the page.

  4. Upload your image and add alternative text (if the image has information that's relevant to someone using assistive technology). Leave the alt text field blank if .

  5. Add alt-text if the image is informative. If the image is decorative, enter two inverted commas (““) in the field.

  6. Save your the page.

  7. Change the state of your the page from 'Draft'to 'Needs Review.The content team will publish your page'.

  8. Once the page is live, your custom social media image will appear when you share the page is shared on social media.
